About us

The Counselling centre Over blocks is a centre established by the Dormitories and Refectories Administration department.

The centre opened itsdoor to public in May 2007. Its service is primarily indended for students accommodated in the dormitories as well as for DRAD employees and other university students that approach centre for advice or counselling.

What we offer

The centre offers general counselling service primarily focused on solving situations of complicated cohabitation of accommodated students. The centre worker is the one who, when needed, visits students on the premises of dormitories and acts as a mediator in the interpersonal conflicts towards an acceptable solution. Our goal is to find solution acceptable for all parties involved in the problem.

Councelling centre also provides counseling service in matters of:

* psychological counselling for student on the matter of crisis, personal problems, problems in relationships etc.
* social security system in CR,
* supporting international students in dealing with other organizations by providing basic interpreting service (English only),
* and other matters brought up by individual students.

The centre also provides wide range of information about

* (non) government institutions,
* volunteering opportunities,
* helps you with orientation in the city of Brno,
* and would give you o lot of information about the way of living in the Czech republic.

The Councelling center regularly presents workshops, festivals, exhibitions, meetings and briefings about social, health and environmental matters that take place on the dormitories premises. More information is placed in section Events.

We will be more than happy to support any iniciative among international students aiming to present their culture to other students such as foreing cuisine cooking, music, customs etc.

How to reach us

By public transport: From The Main train station take tram no. 12 or 13. in the direction of "Červinkova", "Technické muzeum", get off at stop "Skacelova", then bus no. 53 to stop "Kolejní".

At the dormitories: We are based on the ground floor of block A04, facing pub Terč and fitness club Machina.
